THE RESOLUTION !!

Its almost New Year now and for some of you it will  already be a New Year by the time you read it. Many memories left behind, some bitter and some to be cherished forever. No one knows what lies ahead. But for the moment, it is a time to welcome a New Year,a New Life, a New Beginning (or we think so).

In most countries like Korea in Asia and the Westerners like America, people gather together in mass in an open space and wait for the Final Countdown. In my region we don't do that. We usually gather with some family and friends, but most of us go to bed before midnight (Strange huh!). Here, New Year is commonly known as "Bye-Bye". People would make arrangement for the bye-bye night....getting ready to meet the Year with bonfires, eatables, drinks etc..etc..so that they don't enter the beginning of the year with empty stomach.

The most common thing that happen around the globe is making a list of New Year's Resolution (or Vow). We make lists of  Things 'to be done' and 'not to be done'. We list everything that comes to our intelligent mind (mostly not to be kept).People make Resolution just for the sake of 'Making it'. Few people take it seriously, but for the majority.....its just a kind of what we say 'Time Pass".

As a Christian, it is good if we show seriousness in making a Vow . It is clearly written in Ecclesiastes 5:2,4 :- "Do not be rash with your mouth, and let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; therefore let your words be few"; "When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it: for He has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you have vowed". Making a Vow starts from the beginning. It is not a 21st century invention. It relates with God.

Whatever that is in your Resolution lists for the Year 2011- let it be accomplish with belief and faith in God, you  can never do it alone. Do not list things which you cannot do it. You need to put it into action what you have spoken or written out for we know, God help those who help themselves.

Happy New Year ! May you have a prosperous year ahead !

THE MESSENGER !

Christmas season is finally here. Everyone, irrespective of young and old, black and white, tall and short,is busy shopping and selecting clothes and goodies, making plans and lists of people to invite over, etc...etc.... If we are to make a lists of all the things to be done...the lists will be endless. But let us pause a moment and look back..... a little child was born this very day some 2000 years back, in a humble stable. There were no clothes to keep him warm, but just a piece of cloth (probably his mother's shawl). His bed was a manger. He lied there, still unaware of anything. A little innocent child with no blemishes, born to be condemn for us. He was sleeping there for a little while, resting to gain strength to bear the Heavy Cross for  us all. No one noticed him or even tried to do so 2000 years back, and no one still care for him even after 2000 years.

We ignore all the messengers sent to us, like in those days people ignored John the Baptist' message to the people to "Make straight the way of the Lord"(St.John 1:23).
In those days people misunderstood Jesus as the King who would deliver the people from other stronger military rulers and liberate them so they can lived a life of freedom. Today, we also seek for freedom - freedom in every field. But have we ever tried to seek the ONE who is to liberate us - from the Sins, the ONE through whom mankind receives ETERNAL LIFE, the ONE through whom the strained relationship between God and Man is restored. No one care to give a thought why this little babe in the manger ever agreed to come on this sinful world in the first place, why he ever made a DEAL with the Father just for us !

For most of the people, Christmas is just another season for celebration and merriment. It is just another day, which will be forgotten as the very day pass by. It is just another day for FEASTING !

Today, I took out some time for the Lord to write this blog because, as usual, I see people around me preparing for the celebration and making plans for the recipes. No one even mention what their standing will be for the Lord, this year. No one mention how thankful they are for this very day.No one wants to be a messenger like John the Baptist, sending out the GOOD TIDINGS, or should we say "THE LAST WARNING" ?

Its Christmas and we should celebrate, its a must as a Christian. But let not this celebration be meant only for feasting, meeting friends and families, singing carols (just for name sake). Let this year's Christmas be the one you or your near and dear ones will never ever forget ! Let this Christmas be the one where Jesus, the little babe-soon to be crucified for you, finds his place in the "MANGER OF YOUR HEART". This may be your last Christmas. Prepare the way for the Lord !

MERRY CHRISTMAS !MAY THE LORD COME INTO YOUR LIFE AND BE THE KING AND RULER ! AMEN !

Brief Background

I hail from a christian background.I have seven siblings and two half brothers.I am the youngest among my siblings. My father was a Pastor, though his parents were not a christian. My father was among the christian pioneers in our village. He got married to a woman, much older than him . They got two sons. Then they could not get along too well so they  divorced. Then he met my mother, much younger than him.

After some years, with the plot of some narrow and evil minded people, my parents and some villagers were framed as an underground, a rebellions, so the Government sent a troop to arrest and kill them. They were ambushed, raided. A bullet pierced through the wall of my parents home but a thick covered Bible saved my mother from being hit. Many were tortured and they died years later due to that effect .

My parents along with their two eldest children (who were already born by then) and some villagers flee through thick jungles, with many hardships and find their way and got sheltered in some other villages. The traitors looted all the properties of the people whom they framed as rebellions and destroyed the houses and their other possessions. The people who fled parted their ways and my parents got shelter from one village to another. My father along with my Mother led Revival crusades, built up churches in those places where there were none. This went on for some years until their sixth child was born. Then a Big Fall.

My father backslided. He became a drunker. Me and my elder sister never saw any of the things mention above neither did we see my father working great things for the Lord. By the time we were born, he was a great drunker, a Government employee,  his first wife and parents were already dead,  we were firmly settled in the heart of the city and my parents never got along well. Even my mother backslided after my father. However, my mother soon came back to God and till now she is an active worker of the Lord. As for my father, he passed away on March 2009, receiving Christ once again as his Saviour.

I grew up in this background where  parents always fought, where there were many siblings with little to meet their needs. But we were never starved or went naked by God's Grace. However, we were never taught anything about God or spiritual things.

I never went to church or believe in God or had faith in Jesus. I'd always go my own ways, never listen to elders. After my High School, I even started taking tobaccos (thankfully I never took drugs or alcohol). I even neglected on my studies, which got me left behind in Graduation. Then I got more rebellious and even got to the extend of challenging God.

With God's mercy I was struck by sickness (which I am still bearing it) and He call me out to be His servant. I am glad that today I am still kept alive by God and be His witness, though I am not worthy to be so. With the help of my Saviour I will walk and live my life according to His will. Now I am a Bible student. I need to learn and know more about The Bible so that I may equip myself with His Holy Word, and use it as an instrument in spreading the message of Love to the people who are lost and uninformed about His Greatness.

May the Grace of God, my Saviour Lord be with you as you go through my blog. This Blog is solely for the purpose of sharing God's word and my part in it.

Thank you for following me and Hope you read my other Blogs in future.

God Bless.
With Love in Christ
