THE FINAL CONVOCATION

Our Principal of the GOOD NEWS BIBLE COLLEGE made an announcement  that on the 6th February 2011, there will be Convocation and we would be acknowledged for completing our graduation. My joy knew no bound on hearing that. It was not because I will be graduating but because throughout my study for Bachelor of Theology (B.Th), God never let me alone. He was always there with me whenever I needed Him. When I first begin for this journey I prayed to God to never let me alone and He never did.

I came home and told my family this good news. I was happier when I saw my dear ones being so happy with this news. The one reason they were happy was because by the Grace of God I have come this far triumphantly. The other reason was because I am the first in my Family to hold a Degree in Theology . I was eagerly waiting for the moment. As I experienced this emotion of Jubilation, one question struck into my mind. How will the believers feel on that Great Day when Jesus Himself will Crown His faithful and beloved Children?

We know from the Bible that there are 5(Five) Crowns :-
1.         Incorruptible Crown (I Cor. 9:25)
2.         Crown of Rejoicing (I Thess. 2:19)
3.         Crown of Life (James 1:12)
4.         Crown of Righteousness (II Timothy 4:8)
5.         Crown of Glory (I Peter 5:4)

Which one will I be Crown on that GREAT DAY ?When I think of this, I feel more joyful as I know I will receive the Crown because I belief in the Promised of God and the Blood of Christ !

The much awaited day arrived. All the Graduating students were experiencing the same feelings as I did. The programme was a grand success. Everyone came and congratulate us, shaking our hands (most of whom I don’t know), blessing us. It was a great day. That night before bed I took out my Bible and thank My Lord with prayer, and as I went through the Bible  one passage caught  my  eye  and  touched  my  heart. It  was  II Chro. 15:2 “……..The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you”. Indeed, if we seek Him, He is always there for us. The moment we ignore Him, we don’t feel His presence around us. I always prayed for His presence in and around me, and always prayed for His guidance in my studies. He did guide me, not because of my goodness but because of HIS GRACE

I will strive and move forward with faith in Jesus, awaiting for that  FINAL CONVOCATION DAY !
