“NOT NOW FATHER !”

She was barely six years old

Her father said “babe, come on in”

It was winter and outside was cold

But the little girl was playing with the snow

And so she said “Not Now Father!”

She was ten years old

Her father said “babe, go to Sunday school”

Her friends were outside waiting for her

But she was watching her favourite T.V. show

And so she said “Not Now Father!”

She was eighteen years old

Her father said “babe, you need to go to church”

Her friends were all God loving

But she was busy preparing for the upcoming prom party

And so she said “Not Now Father!”

She was twenty-three years old

Her father said “babe, you need to see a counsellor”

Her father was worried for she was wild and uncontrollable

But she was busy partying around

And so she said “Not Now Father!”

She was twenty-seven years old

Her father said “babe, lets pray together tonight”

She promised to return early after the party

But she met an accident on the way and died that night

Because she said “Not Now Father!”

She was at her very youthful age

Her father cried “babe, only if you’d listen to me”

He always tried to teach her in many ways

But she denied to listen to that loving voice

And so she kept on saying “Not Now Father!”

Time passes by before us

Our lives will wither away

Like a flower in the Garden

Now is the time, whilst it will be too late

If we keep on saying “Not Now Father!”
